Frequently Asked Questions

About Individual Portraits

Q: How can I get my organization into the Cactus yearbook for free?

A: Fill out this information form and attach a list of your current members and return it to us by October 15. If you get more than 80 percent of your members to attend the Cactus photo studio, your pages in the Cactus yearbook will be free! After you send in your form, we will contact you with more information.

Q:  How can I get my photo in the yearbook?

A:  Cactus offers a free portrait studio once each semester, scheduled in October and February. The studio is located in the Texas Student Publications building, CMC 3.302. Look for reminder emails and information on our website closer to the dates.

Q:  How do I order pictures? What if I want to re-take my portrait?

A:  If you have specific questions regarding your photograph, please contact our photographer, TOP Photo, at 512-476-2166. Re-takes will take place during the February photo studio.

About Ordering the Cactus

Q:  How much is the yearbook?

A:  The 2010 Cactus yearbook is $85, including taxes, shipping and handling. For this price, you will receive over 400, full-color pages and the supplementary DVD. This is the same price as many high school books, which aren’t in full color.

Q:  When will I get it?

A:  Because we include as much of the 2009-10 academic year as possible, the book is completed during the beginning of the summer. You will receive your book no later than September of 2010. The Cactus will be mailed to your permanent address, or the address given on your order form, at no extra charge to you.

Q:  Can I get the book when it's published so that I can see it before ordering?

A:  Yes, however, there will be limited supply and the cost may be increased. We order very few above the number pre-ordered, so order yours today to guarantee you receive a copy!

Q:  Can I order back issues?

A:  Yes, but quantities are limited depending on the edition. There are a few of the most recent issues available on our website (click here). For older issues, please contact our offices at 512-417-5083.
